Live Painting by Gamayuna
During a magical evening in Miami at the Tribal Galaxy & Alter by Eli Light, I was honored to create a live painting in collaboration with DJ Eli Light and Ali Kartarsula.
Amidst the music, dance, and ritual energy, I was drawn to a powerful sculpture placed at the altar—a bird with outstretched wings, crafted from metal. I asked Eli about it, and her eyes lit up as she shared a personal story: while sailing in Egypt, this exact bird appeared in the sky, gliding near her boat. She later discovered its name: Bennu.
Bennu is a sacred bird in ancient Egyptian mythology, often associated with the sun, creation, and rebirth. It is considered the inspiration for the Greek phoenix. Bennu symbolizes the eternal cycle of life—death, transformation, and resurrection. It carries the energy of divine timing and personal evolution.
I was so deeply moved that I began painting Bennu on the spot, using mirrors and vision to bring its power into form. The painting is now complete—a portal of reflection and awakening, inviting anyone who looks into the mirror to connect with the mythic force of Bennu.
This original artwork is now available for purchase.
