Kolyada is the young Slavic sun god, the giver of the calendar—a gift of time. The name “Kolyada” comes from “Kolyada Dar”, meaning the “Gift of Kolyada.” This celebration marks the birth of the new sun, a powerful and meaningful time to set intentions, just as we do on our birthdays when the sun’s energy aligns most strongly with our lives.

As we honor Kolyada, we also celebrate the solar cycle of the year—the 12 months ahead that reflect the cycles of our journeys. This is a moment to align with the sun’s rebirth, set intentions, and create a foundation for a transformative 2025.
